Celebrate Peace Tour – with Snatam Kaur and GuruGanesha Singh

Snatam Kaur has become one of the most popular New Age sacred chant artists of our time, selling over 50,000 albums a year of Sikh-inspired chants and shabds. She is the first Sikh performer to be considered for a Grammy nomination. She and GuruGanesha Singh have traveled throughout the US, Europe, Asia, South America and the South Pacific on their Celebrate Peace Tour, performing at hundreds of venues and reaching the hearts of thousands of people.

As a child, Snatam and her mother played kirtan every day and she learned the power of healing through sacred chant.  At the age of six, Snatam traveled to the Golden Temple in India with her mother and met Bhai Hari Singh, her mother’s kirtan teacher, and she spent many hours listening to the sacred music played at the Golden Temple.  Her love of sacred music and devotion were nurtured there. Snatam returned to Amritsar, India after college to continue her studies of kirtan with Bhai Hari Singh.

In 2000, Snatam Kaur signed a record contract with Spirit Voyage Records in Sterling, VA, founded by GuruGanesha Singh, and has produced numerous CD’s including:  Prem, Shanti, Grace, Anand, and Live in Concert. She is currently working on a children’s album.  In 2001, she and GuruGanesha Singh, who served as both her manager and guitar player, began their Celebrate Peace Tour.  Deeply committed to the mission of peace, Snatam Kaur and GuruGanesha Singh embody the Sikh message of strength through inner serenity.  For Snatam, the sacred chants of the Sikhs, as well as chants from other faiths are an important expression for healing, peace and social change. To each city they visit, they bring sacred music, yoga and meditation. The Celebrate Peace Tour will continue to go throughout the US and abroad offering prayers and chants in the spirit of peace.
